Hello all, and welcome Behind the Curtain Bangs! I’m Sarah, the Creative Director here at Bach. I have had the privilege of being a hairdresser for the past 19 years, with the last 15 of those spent at the best salon in Brisbane, Bach Hair. As an incurable sticky beak myself I thought others of you out there might be intrigued to know more about the real journey of a hairdresser. The good, the bad, the downright hideous and everything in between. The hot, perfectly brewed tea if you will. I do love a good cup of tea.
This blog isn’t about telling you what to do with your hair. If you want to know what to do with your hair we would love to help you! This blog IS about sharing my experiences. Hairdressing is truly one of the most exciting and wonderful careers out there. As a hairdresser you get to make a difference in some one’s life everyday and that feels pretty amazing. Creatively, it is an excellent choice as you get to be an artist without the stress that many artists face about making money. But this job can also be challenging, exhausting and occasionally just horrible.
So If you would like to know everything, from what happens when you accidentally mix up the wrong colour to how it feels to have a client share devastating news with you to why I passionately loathe a particular brush this is the place for you! Sometimes frivolous, occasionally heartbreaking and mostly just good fun, Behind the Curtain Bangs is your window into a world I’m sure you are all going to love.
I will be here to spill the tea, however I won’t be here to air the dirty laundry. So don’t worry, if you’ve ever told me a wild story I won’t be spreading it to the entire internet. Everyone knows your hairdresser is a vault. Your secrets are safe with me. Your hair formula however… who knows?
